Hearthway Legal — Return / Refund Policy
Effective: June 11, 2025

At Hearthway Legal, we take pride in providing high-quality estate planning document preparation services tailored to each client’s unique needs. Due to the nature of legal services and customized document drafting, we maintain the following return and refund policy:

1. Non-Refundable Services

Because estate planning services involve personalized legal work product that begins immediately upon engagement, all payments for document preparation services are non-refundable once drafting has commenced.

This includes:

  • Revocable Living Trusts

  • Wills

  • Powers of Attorney

  • Advance Health Care Directives

  • Deeds or related property transfer documents

Once work has begun, fees paid are deemed earned and non-refundable, even if the client chooses not to proceed, unless otherwise required by law.

2. Draft Review Period

Clients will be provided with draft documents for review prior to finalization. Clients are responsible for reviewing all documents carefully and notifying Hearthway Legal of any requested changes, corrections, or clarifications within a reasonable time (generally 10 business days from delivery of drafts). Hearthway Legal will make reasonable revisions necessary to ensure accuracy and satisfaction.

3. Exceptional Circumstances

In rare cases where work has not yet commenced or where no substantial attorney time has been expended, Hearthway Legal may, in its sole discretion, authorize a partial refund. Such refunds are not guaranteed and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

4. Cancellation Before Engagement

If a client chooses to cancel services prior to execution of an engagement agreement and prior to any legal work being performed, a full refund may be issued.

5. Errors and Omissions

If any errors or omissions occur that are directly attributable to Hearthway Legal, reasonable corrections will be made at no additional charge.

6. No Guarantee of Legal Outcome

Refunds are not provided for dissatisfaction related to legal outcomes, changes in client circumstances, or decisions outside Hearthway Legal’s control.
